SEA BEYOND is an educational program promoted by the Prada Group and UNESCO’s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC), to raise awareness on sustainability and ocean preservation.
From 2023, SEA BEYOND extended its scope beyond education with two new areas of focus: support for scientific research dissemination and humanitarian projects, both dedicated to projects related to the ocean.
As of July 2023, 1% of Prada Re-Nylon Collection proceeds supports SEA BEYOND.
In November 2023, Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada S.p.A. Executive Director & Prada Group Head of Corporate Social Responsibility, became "Patron of the Ocean Decade Alliance" in recognition of his commitment to protecting the ocean.

SEA BEYOND – THIRD EDITION
The third edition of the SEA BEYOND educational module is about to kick off – this year dedicated to the delicate balance between Ocean and Climate.
From January to June 2024, 34,385 students from 184 schools across 56 countries will take part a training course and creative contest on this theme.
THE PARTNERSHIP WITH BIBLIOTHÈQUES SANS FRONTIÈRES
Prada Group has announced its first humanitarian project within SEA BEYOND. In partnership with the international non-profit organisation Bibliothèques Sans Frontières, the initiative facilitates access to education, culture and information for citizens in vulnerable communities through the Ideas Box, a mobile multimedia centre dedicated to ocean protection.
PRADA RE-NYLON IN PARTNERSHIP WITH NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CREATIVE WORKS
Prada and National Geographic delve into the why of Prada Re-Nylon: the dangers facing some of the world’s most delicate ocean and aquatic ecosystems, and the ways we can create positive impact.
EDUCATIONAL MODULE
An educational program for secondary schools around the world, to raise awareness among the new generations about adopting more responsible and mindful behaviors towards the ocean and its resources.
KINDERGARTEN OF THE LAGOON
Outdoor education activities for pre-school children in Venice, to understand more about the ocean and the central role that it plays in sustainable development.
PRADA GROUP EMPLOYEES’ LEARNING PATH
Activities for the Group’s employees on a global scale, to teach the principles of ocean literacy and to encourage a more active role in its protection.
EVENTS
The Manifesto of the Decade of the Sea is an expression of the 2021-2030 United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.

THE OCEAN DECADE
The United Nations declared 2021-2030 the “Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development”: ten years dedicated to the ocean and the protection of the sea and its health.
The goal is to build a common research and technological innovation programme to commit the scientific community, governments, the private sector and civil society to preserve a clean and healthy ocean.
Ten years will be dedicated to understanding the vital importance of the sea for our Planet, to build an Ocean Generation fully aware of its value.
On December 16, 2020, the UNESCO Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission launched the Manifesto of the Decade of the Sea in Italy. The Prada Group, already committed to the education of future generations through the SEA BEYOND project, decided to support the initiative, becoming one of the first signatories of the Manifesto.
